A FOUR-YEAR-OLD Torquay born girl is causing a golfing and video sensation in America.
Hannah Pearson was born in Torbay when her mother Aviva was working here as director of tourism.
Aviva, who came from America, and her husband photographer Carl have moved back to America after leaving this country.
When she was one year old they gave little Hannah a set of plastic golf clubs. Carl told a Tuscon news reporter that as soon as she started playing with them he knew she had a special gift.
"Her hand to eye co-ordination was fantastic, my wife and eye looked at each other and went Oh My God," he said. "She is told something once and she just gets it," he said.
Other players and coaches have recognised her young talent though it has led to some double takes among some of them when they see her hitting her shots on the course or dragging her pink golf cart.
Hannah is now enjoying golf as her favourite hobby and won a peewee award for a junior golfer with her swing and came fourth in her first tournament — and the Tuscon news report is turning into something of an internet sensation.
