Firefighters attended a car fire in Torquay. The Fire Service received several calls to a car on fire at Lummaton Cross in Barton just before 11pm on Tuesday. One fire appliance from Torquay attended.
Fire crews confirmed one car in a private car park was well alight. The car was severely damaged by fire and was extinguished by fire crews using one compressed air foam systems jet.
Fire crews made the vehicle safe using small tools. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Fire Service.
One local resident said: "I heard a car horn being sounded continuously. I didn't know what was going on. Then the firefighters turned up.
"I don't know who's done that but once again it's not good for the area."
Just a few hours earlier crews put out a small woodland fire off the main Newton Road in Torquay
