POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a home in Kingskerswell was burgled and more than £1,500 worth of jewellery was taken.
The burglar entered the property on the Newton Road on the morning of August 26 through an insecure window while the home owner was in the garden.
A sapphire and diamond ring worth £500, a £300 cross in solid gold and two pairs of earrings worth £200 were among the items stolen.
Wallets, cards and £250 in cash was also grabbed along with a Nintendo DS and a Anne Klein watch.
The crime took place between 9.30am and 1.15pm.

Fundraiser to fight cancer
BRIXHAM Rugby Club will be hosting a fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support on Saturday, September 7.
As well as Brixham vs Newton Abbot, there will be Zumba sessions, face painting, stalls and live music.
It starts at 1pm.
"It's the first in a series of fundraisers for Macmillan that the club will be doing to support the charity," said Steve McKee, BRFC Youth Committee.
"It has helped so many of our members and families especially in recent months with the loss of those very close to the club."
A BATTLE of Britain Memorial service will be held at St Luke's Church, in St Luke's Road, Torquay, on Sunday, September 15, starting at 10.30am.
