A TORQUAY car park was sealed off for several hours after police launched a sexual assault investigation.
Police have confirmed they were called to Torre Valley Sports Field in Torquay around 6.30pm on Thursday 5 September.
A spokesman for the force said that on arrival, two women reported to officers that they had been subject to a serious sexual assault.
The sports field and nearby car park were cordoned off by police while scenes of crimes officers examined the scene.
Officers could be seen carrying out some kind of search in the distance at the bottom of the field which has rugby posts erected on it.
One half of the road leading up to the junction to the lights at Torre Abbey mansion along Rathmore road was also closed with two police cars parked inside the cordon
The police spokesman said: “Two men aged 18 and 24 from the West Midlands have been arrested in connection with an allegation of serious sexual assault and they remain in police custody awaiting interview.”
The park and field were reopened around 9.45pm on Thursday 5 September.
However police investigations are continuing.
