BRIXHAM-based magazine Acumen has been crowned the best literary publication in the South West.
General editor Patricia Oxley received the award at a Bristol Poetry Festival event.
She was presented with a blue crystal goblet by the festival’s director, Colin Brown, and she made a short acceptance speech.
She said that Acumen, while being a literary journal with poetry from across the globe, is happy to introduce the wide range of work published in the South West to a wider audience.
She said: “The poetry written by poets here in the South West is of a high standard and Acumen helps to give it the audience it deserves.”
The magazine has been published from Brixham since its first issue in 1985.
