A bird of prey that became trapped in power cables has been rescued by fire crews.
A concerned member of the public spotted the Harris hawk in distress in overhead cables in Barnfield Road in the Shorton area of Paignton just after 9am.
It is believed the bird's talons had become trapped in wiring.
One fire crew from Paignton assessed the scene and requested Western Power to attend due to the electrical power cable, and a hydraulic platform from Torquay.
By 10.30am the hawk had been released safely.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "The owner of the Harris hawk bird of prey was also in attendance and attempted to coax the bird down with food."
