THE owners of a home interiors shop in Paignton are to run workshops to teach others the craft of up-cycling furniture.
Sally Benton, who launched Alba-Rosie's Shabby Chic Treasures last year, said: "Everyone is keen to reuse their existing pieces of loved furniture so it becomes re-loved again."
The business is named after her first granddaughter and she launched it with a desire to fulfil a natural artistic quality for home interiors and craft designs.
Sally said: "We started the business after our eldest daughter Kirsty had her first child Alba-Rosie, so we could work together to build a family business that we could all enjoy.
"Our son Ben built and maintains the website, husband Mike helps with the delivery and pick up of furniture and youngest daughter Brittany helps with all the pricing."
Alba-Rosie's Shabby Chic Treasures offers an array of shabby chic unique home décor, home accessories, and shabby chic decorative gifts.
It sells Chalk Paint TM Annie Sloan, waxes, brushes and workbooks everything you need to get started on your very own projects.
It also sells furniture which has been lovingly up-cycled by Sally.
She added: "We source all our furniture locally and help to keep local business like Animals in Distress, Rowcroft and The Peter Ward Foundation busy by requesting unusual pieces from them which helps support their worthy charities.
"Each piece of furniture is hand painted, all in all a lovingly restored piece of vintage furniture giving it a new lease of life so it can be enjoyed for many more years to come.
"We also take commissions from clients to paint their pieces either in their homes or at our shop."
