THE magnificent Mad Dog McRea (pictured above) are at the Jolly Farmer in Newton Abbot on Sunday night.

Mad Dog McRea, who were named the overall Best Act at the recent 2012 South West Music Awards and scooped Best Album at the 2011 version, blend folk rock, pop, gypsy jazz, bluegrass and more, combining self-penned songs of adventure, drinking, love and life with traditional songs of gypsies, fairies, legless pirates and black flies.

The band have recently returned from their first major UK tour and by the end of 2012 they will have clocked up well over 100 shows in the course of the year.

Take dancing shoes and get there early.
