A 99-year-old man was rescued by firefighters after falling and becoming wedged down the side of a table.
A fire engine was called to the scene at around 10.20pm on Saturday by an ambulance crew, which had been unsuccessful in getting him out.
The fire appliance from Crownhill, Plymouth, was mobilised following a request from ambulance at Old Woodlands Road, Plymouth.
A fire service spokesman said: "An elderly gentleman had fallen in his home and become wedged down the side of a wooden table.
"An ambulance crew were on scene but had been unsuccessful in getting him out and needed our help.
"Shortly after arriving, the crew were able to release the 99-year-old gentleman, into the care of the paramedics."
