PAIGNTON Green comes alive with music over the next week or so as Torbay Carnival and Paignton Regatta bring in the big guns. On Saturday night it's the Herald Express Big Bang, with four great live acts playing on the Green on the Carnival's fireworks night.
The music starts from 7.15pm when the winners of the Torbay Carnival's Got Talent competition take to the stage.
They will be followed at 8pm by up-and-coming Torbay rock band the Stone Angels, who recently headlined the Brixham Festival and had the crowds rocking on the quayside.
They will be followed by local singer/songwriter Owen Penrice, while headliners after the fireworks at 10.10pm will be rocking trio Firekind.
Formerly gigging as Rude Tiger, Firekind have recently returned from California where they have been recording and working with some of the music industry's top names (see Pages 12-13). Paignton Regatta's music begins on the evening of Saturday, August 10, with a triple bill of Poster Child, Empire of Fools and The Humanitarians.
The music goes on on Sunday August 11 with Nicky Swann and Lucky Guy and the Chancers playing during the afternoon.
Fireworks night on Tuesday, August 13, begins with Steve Cradock and Friends at 7pm, followed by Owen Penrice and then headliners These Reigning Days playing just before the big display.
Lucky Guy and the Chancers return for a second appearance on Sunday, August 18.
