IF you have a passion for Cockington Country Park and love to be outdoors, join the practical volunteer days.
Meet Ken, the groundsman, at 9am every Tuesday by the Cider Press, at the back of Cockington Court to get involved with practical work in the grounds of Cockington Country Park.
Make sure you bring a packed lunch and suitable clothing for working outdoors, with the day finishing at 3pm.
Work will include general site maintenance such as repairing steps, clearing footpaths and clearing gullies, winter work has a focus on clearing vegetation in particular invasive rhododendron, bramble and leaf clearance — with summer seeing more horticulture work such as working on the flower beds in the rose garden alongside weeding and edging.
This is a great opportunity to get a hands-on experience with the Cockington groundsman and learn more about Cockington in a practical way.
