SOUTH DEVON COLLEGE students achieved an outstanding overall pass rate of 100 per cent in this year's A-level exams.
The majority of students achieved high grades (A*-C) with an impressive 100 per cent pass rate across all 18 subjects: art and design, biology, business, chemistry, English language and literature, environmental studies, film studies, geography, history, human biology, law, mathematics, media, photography, physics, psychology and sociology.
South Devon College principal Stephen Criddle said: "These are superb results for the college with many outstanding individual achievements.
"I am particularly pleased with our learners' achievements and excellent overall pass rate of 100 per cent — we are really delighted. Congratulations to everyone, both students and staff, who have worked so hard to achieve such excellent results.

James Hawkesby, aged 19 from Paignton, has achieved three A* grades in biology, chemistry and maths.
He completed his GCSEs with South Devon College and has successfully completed his A-levels with a bright future ahead.
James said: "I am delighted with my results and really excited about going to study veterinary medicine at the University of Cambridge.
"I have really enjoyed studying with South Devon College."
Liam Butler, aged 18 from Paignton, has gained three A-levels in history (B), sociology (B) and law (C).
He is now planning on studying history and sociology at Sussex University and would like to pursue a career in teaching in the future.
"These results are just perfect," James said.
"I feel incredible, as you are just not sure when you are waiting for them how you are going to do!
"The facilities and support at South Devon College have been brilliant and a great place to learn."
Sancha Clark, 18 from Torquay, has received an A* in English literature, a B in sociology and a C in law.
She is now going to be studying a business admin apprenticeship with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Plymouth.
She said: "I was going to go to university, but I have decided to undertake an apprenticeship for a year to get some experience. I am really pleased with my results, I wasn't too nervous but I wanted something."
Christian Martin, 18 from Torquay, was delighted with his A-level results art (A), physics (B) and maths (B).
He said: "I was nervous before getting my results but ecstatic when I saw how well I had done! The college offered amazing facilities and a fun, professional working environment."
Christian hopes to progress on to university after a year out to gain experience in his field of engineering.
Christian's mother, Liz, is also delighted with the results.
She said: "I am really proud and delighted with how well Christian has done and the staff and support from South Devon College have been fantastic. They provide excellent updates for parents and I would certainly recommend coming to study at South Devon College to anyone."
Charis Ridge, 18 from Brixham, achieved an A in sociology and C in both English language and human biology A levels. She now has her place at Cardiff University to study nursing. She said: "I am so glad that I have got my place at university!
"The college always had help available when I needed it and I am so pleased that I got an A in sociology."
Charlotte Woods, 18 from Brixham, got an A in psychology and a B in both maths and human biology.
She said: "I had to get three C's to get into nursing at Plymouth and I did better than I expected!
"I want to go on to midwifery and I may now be able to get in straight away with my results now! Thank you to South Devon College for helping me get the grades!"
Many of last year's A-level students at the award winning College have continued their studies with South Devon College's University Centre and completed their first year studying a Foundation Degree. The College had 94 per cent student satisfaction from final year HE students in a recent national survey, topping the league tables.
South Devon College offers a wide range of Foundation Degrees in partnership with Plymouth University, accessible via many different routes with more and more reason to study locally, as well as a number of full Honours Degree options. New for this September, you can now study for a BA (Hons) Child Development & Education and a BSc (Hons) Healthcare Practice, both top-up routes from their Foundation Degrees. The college is also introducing a new programme in Psychology with Sociology.
