THE public is being given the chance to have its say on South Devon College's new university technical college plan for Newton Abbot.
A consultation programme has been launched as proposals for the new campus in Bradley Lane forge ahead.
UTC project champion Adele Dawson said: "We received a lot of support from the public when we put our application together for the new school.
"Now the Department for Education has given us the green light to move to the pre-opening stage, we are doing another round of consultation.
"This time parents, potential applicants, employers and the wider community will have the opportunity to look at the architects' design for the school, find out more about the admissions process and give us feedback on key aspects of the school.
"To give everyone in the South Devon area the chance to find out more, we are running events across the area from Exeter in the east to Kingsbridge and Ivybridge in the west.
"The open events are supported by the project partnership so our employer partners will explain why they are supporting the school, including Galliford Try, Centrax, the Environment Agency, the Federation of Small Businesses, South West Water and the University of Exeter."
An on-line survey via the website: www.SouthDevonUTC.org has also been launched to gauge views.
The UTC's first prospectus will also be available in September.
Adele said: "We can't wait to show parents and prospective applicants our new prospectus which showcases a number of young employees from our employer partners.
"We hope this will inspire young people hoping to develop an exciting career in the engineering, water and environmental industries."
Anne Marie Morris, MP for Newton Abbot, said: "The UTC will help young people gain the skills they need to succeed while providing a welcome boost to the local economy and our engineering businesses."
