WITH 700 delegates and 22 events, this year's South Devon Enterprise Week has grown from strength to strength.
Delivered by a range of business support organisations from across South Devon , the week-long calendar of events gave a wealth of business advice to a variety of companies from across all sectors in Torbay.
The week was kick started with a School Challenge delivered by South Devon College, which inspired local young people to make their mark in the business world.
Followed by a start-up session on being your own boss, and a fast moving speed networking session to throw delegates out of their comfort zone and learn crucial social interaction skills to help create new contacts.
The Social Enterprise day involved a live link between business support organisations in Plymouth, Exeter and Cornwall to take part in a panel debate; and the week drew to a close with the Torbay Business Festival with valuable workshops on a range of topics such as marketing, low carbon opportunities, trading standards and funding.
This year, South Devon Enterprise Week was coordinated by the TDA in collaboration with partners from across South Devon including Torbay Council, Teignbridge District Council, South Hams District Council, South Devon College, Outset Torbay, Torquay Chamber of Commerce, Peninsula Enterprise, Education Business Partnership South West, South West Investment Group, Dartington School of Social Enterprise, Real Ideas Organisation, South West Investment Group and local banks.
To carry on the momentum for next year, the TDA continues with its successful event Ready for Business which runs throughout 2014 to help people start up on their own if faced with redundancy or if they are a professional working in an organisation that wants to bring their own experience into a self employed business; not forgetting the popular monthly Friday networking events at the TDA's Innovation Centres.
